Earth Day 2022
The first WE!ARE event is hosted in partnership with the Royal Danish Embassy, showing how conversation, art, music and poetry are powerful vehicles for social change. The event includes a curated art exhibition featuring the works of several emerging South African artists illustrating why ‘Africa is in the dark’. Award- winning musician and activist, Busiswa Gqulu, conveyed climate justice messages through her music.

Dialogue with Danish Minister of Development and Cooperation and Minister for Nordic Cooperation, Flemming Møller Mortensen, Cape Town

Crtv DEVELOPMENT partnered with the MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) to develop micro-documentaries featuring climate justice on our continent through the eyes of the youth. MTF is a talent incubation programme for young, emerging African filmmakers. Four MTF crews visited Ethiopia, Ghana, Uganda and Malawi and gathered these stories of hope and environmental activism. These documentaries were broadcast across the continent via DStv during Africa Month.

Hubs will receive funding and training to host workshops on using art for activism, and curating pop-up showcases to engage communities.
